Inspired by KISS, Sonia picked up the bass guitar at the age of 14. A year later she started playing guitar as well. She is a self-taught musician.
Her extreme taste developed at the age of 17, and as a bassist, she joined many local metal acts and played various shows internationally with brutal deathmetal band Sepiroth. With deathmetal band Ecocide she released Where the Stars Align.
At the age of 19 she joined her first band as a guitarist, the all-girl heavymetal band Burning Witches. With them, she released the Wings of Steel EP, full-length albums Hexenhammer and Dance With The Devil, and toured internationally, playing huge festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Sweden Rock, Summer Breeze and many more.
In 2019, Sonia founded her own heavy metal band Cobra Spell in which she currently plays lead-guitar. Together with Fernanda and Luana (both former Nervosa members, Sonia started Crypta to go back to her extreme roots on lead-guitar duty. In 2020, Sonia decided to leave Burning Witches due to personal reasons and to focus on Crypta and Cobra Spell.

I started fooling around on my Mom's old classical guitar around the age of 10, figuring out Elvis and Kinks songs here and there. But I didn't commit to playing and learning until I was 13 years old. I just loved the feel and sound of the guitar at a very young age. I knew I had to pursue it and would be playing guitar for the rest of my life in some manner.
Influences: Marty Friedman, Paul Gilbert, Dimebag, Kiko Loureiro, Steve Vai, Guthrie Govan ... The list goes on and on.

I have been playing guitar for more than 19 years, I think it was love at first sight after listening to 'The Number Of The Beast' of 'Iron Maiden' and the hard rock music of the 80s, from there I fell in love with the guitar. I currently play guitar with the band Azkaban, who will release their official album this year.

I started playing when I was eleven years old. I started playing when my father sat me down on Christmas morning 2005 to listen to the U2 singles CD I bought him. The first song that played was 'I Will Follow'. It blew my mind when my dad told me that's the guitar. I had never thought much of guitar, because I had to go to church with my parents and didn't like it very much. So for my eleventh birthday I got my first guitar and have never looked back!
